Microscopy in Focus Newsletter
The newsletter is one of the ways we keep in touh with what's going on in New Zealand microscopy and it is your chance to contribute to the fabric of our society. Members are encouraged to not only read the newsletter, but to send in tips, discussion points or in depth articles. Nothing is too small to be included if it's relevant to our society members.
After paying the paltry sum to join the society (see Membership link) you will be sent a password to open the pdf file which is downloaded from this page. We have moved to an electronic newsletter as it allows for a full colour format and may save the odd tree.
Microscopy in Focus is also open to manufacturers and suppliers who may wish to advertise their wares. We are happy to accept copy from advertisers, which will be incorporated in to the general text of the newsletter, not a separate advertisers' section. It will however be marked as an advertisement.
The latest copy of the newsletter is password protected, back issues are not.

Digital Copies of Newsletter Archives
The aim is to produce digital copies of all print back-issues of Microscopy in Focus, right back to the first newsletter in December 1978 when it was called 'EM News'. A sampler of these early editions has been included in recent copies of Microscopy in Focus. The pdf files shown here are the full content of each edition and are not password protected. The process is a little labour intensive so editions will be added as time permits.
Enjoy perusing the old editions, they still contain information relevant to today's microscopy techniques and are a nice reminder of the people who haved passed through many of our research institutes.
