Microscopy Centres

Most microscopy facilities are located in cities, but if there are others we've missed please let us know so they can be added. The people at the various microscopy sites are happy to be asked for advice, so make use of their expertise.

Tāmaki-makau-rau (Auckland)

A wide range of techniques and expertise are located in Auckland.

Kirikiriroa (Hamilton)

Hamilton has an emphasis on materials science, particularly SEM.

Rotorua

The main microscopy centre is SCION, a commercial forestry research facility.

Te Whanga-nui-a-Tara (Wellington)

A variety of microscopy techniques located at Victoria University.

Ōtautahi (Christchurch)

A number of tertiary and crown research facilities are located around Christchurch.

Ōtepoti (Dunedin)

One of the larger microscopy facilities, Dunedin has a wide variety of expertise.
